Button Bug Craft

Bugs are one of the most fascinating things to our little ones so we think making this bug craft wiht your kids is a whole heck of a lot better than having real-life creepy crawlers brought inside. Let your kids make and play with these friendly and cute little bugs both indoors and out. A fun, creative and educational bug project for the kids.

Project ideal for this Little Crafter
Kindergartener and above

What you’ll need

  • Craft wires
  • Buttons
  • Googly eyes

How-to make this craft

  1. Start by cutting your craft wires. Cut 1 piece that is 3-inches and then 3 pieces that are 2 and 1/4-inches long.
  2. Insert the 3-inch wire through two holes of a button.
  3. Twist the ends tightly around the center of the other three pieces.
  4. Bend the wire ends into legs and antennae.
  5. Add googly eyes.

  • There definitely needs to be better directions or photos showing the wiring underneath the buttons for the “twisting” of the legs.

    • Thanks for your feedback Carol. We’ll work on adding this. If you make this craft we’d love for you to share us any tricks you came across to making the twisting of the legs work best.
